12 year old raped by Kaduna cleric gives birth in Kaduna

A 12-year-old lady who was raped by an elementary teacher in Unguwan Fantaro, Kachia Local Authorities Area of Kaduna state, in June 2021, have a safe delivery to a baby boy.

The victim used to hawk chin-chin, a well-liked Nigerian snack in her village, when she was lured by the teacher merely identified as Salihu below the guise of buying chin-chin price N200. Salihu reportedly coated Halima’s mouth after which defiled her.

Three months later, the victim was found to be pregnant and was placed below the custody of the Kaduna State Ministry of Human Services and Social Development via the Ummulkhairi Foundation.

Confirming her delivery to newsmen, the state Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development, Hafsat Baba, mentioned the girl was efficiently delivered of a baby boy.

“The little girl gave birth to a baby boy three weeks ago, and I’m joyful the doctors at Barau Dikko Hospital have been able to handle her well to give birth on her own, slightly than permitting her to undergo a caesarean section.

Although the baby is with us, we simply handed her over to her mom on Wednesday. We’re, however, not leaving any stone unturned to see that justice prevails and the man who put the little girl in a family way pays for his action.”Hafsat Baba mentioned

The Commissioner noted that the perpetrator has been arrested and is in police custody..
