Some mourners who thronged the Palace to mourn the demise of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi on Saturday had been been attacked by bees.

It was reported the incident occurred around 10 am after Islamic clerics had arrived at the palace in preparation for the burial of the monarch.

In line with reviews, a policeman, among the sympathizers, mourners, conventional rulers, and non secular leaders had been among the many victims attacked by bees.

It was gathered that to chase away the attacking bees, residents within the open space in the palace who had been affected, plucked tree branches and leaves to drive the undesirable insects away.

The victims had been assisted to drive away from the bees and eradicating among the insects which got stuck on their bodies.

TopGist had earlier reported that the revered Yoruba monarch handed on at age 83 as the longest-reigning Alaafin of Oyo.

The corpse of the monarch was dropped at Oyo city, the Oyo State capital, very early on Saturday, and conventional rites had been carried out before burial.
