Alhaji Abdulkadir Maisamari, a district head in Taraba state has been killed by gunmen who attacked a Mosque at Maisamari city in Sardauna Local Authorities Area of the state.
Maisamari was killed during Ishai prayers on Monday evening. Eyewitnesses informed Daily Trust that the gunmen opened fireplace instantly they stormed the mosque.
Residents have been stated to have confronted the gunmen, forcing them to flee right into a mountain near the city.
A resident, Musa Sale informed the publication that no person was kidnapped, and the District head had been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
Spokesperson of Taraba Police Command, DSP Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the incident however didn’t give details.
That is the third mosque within the state to have been attacked by gunmen in the previous few weeks.
