Eight suspects arrested as NSCDC busts illegal bunkering syndicates in Ondo

An eight-man syndicate who allegedly specialises in vandalism of petroleum pipelines, unlawful bunkering actions and dealings in unlawful adulterated petroleum merchandise have been arrested at Olowo Community in Odigbo Local Authorities Area of Ondo state.

The suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad of the Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who acted on a reputable intelligence report.

“On the dump site which has been sealed and secured, the next exhibits have been additionally recovered: 19kegs of 25litres of adulterated AGO, 5 drums of 200 litres of suspected AGO, 2 drums of 200 litres capacity that’s half stuffed and two drums of 200litres capability that’s about quarter stuffed,” the assertion learn.

“Others are: two storage tanks with 3500 litres of adulterated AGO every. An underground storage tanks with 4 compartments have been additionally found at the crime scene. The first compartment was empty , the second compartment has 2,800 litres , the third compartment comprise 1,500 litres whereas the fourth compartment has 16,500 litres of adulterated Automated Gas Oil (AGO).

It noted that the Commandant Normal in his renewed vigour to fight the rebellion menace of unlawful dealings in petroleum merchandise deployed Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad, who  acted on a reputable intelligence,  busted the location round 0900hours of twenty first April, 2022.

He reiterated that the command, led by Dr Ahmed Abodunrin, is not going to relent in its dedication to battle towards oil theft, oil bunkering and all acts of unlawful dealings in petroleum merchandise within the State, stressing that the suspects might be charged to court on the finish of investigation.
