Former minister Graham Douglas, dies at 82

A former Minister of Youth, Sports, and Culture below the Babangida army era, Alabo Graham-Douglas, is lifeless.

He was 82 years old. He died in a hospital in Abuja on Monday, April 25.

The Late Graham-Douglas turned Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Culture in 1986 in Rivers State and was subsequently appointed Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture in 1989 and later Minister of Aviation in Ibrahim Babangida’s cabinet.

In 1992, Graham-Douglas turned chairman of the Southern Minorities Movement, one of many teams that ultimately merged into the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He was a candidate within the PDP primaries for the presidential nomination in 1998, shedding to General Olusegun Obasanjo (rtd), who went on to turn into elected president in 1999.
