One dead, many injured as two men fight over lady

A battle which ensued between two males over a girl’s love has left at the very least one individual lifeless in Jalingo, Taraba State’s capital. 

Channels Tv reported that the battle which occurred in the Water Board area of Jalingo additionally led to the destruction of properties value hundreds of thousands of naira.

It was learned that the battle degenerated into a spiritual disaster as one of the men employed thugs to inflict mayhem on the opposite, whereas the other one called on buddies to help in fighting back.

The strain was nevertheless doused after security operatives intervened, A businessman who specializes in a bread bakery, Salihu Sale stated; 

“This incident started 4 days ago as a minor scuffle without notice. It then degenerated into a fight between youths of two communities over a lady.

“It later became a religious battle between Christian and Muslim youths. They broke my doors and windows, but luckily, security operatives arrived and took control of the situation and that’s the reason I’m right here to pack what’s left of my bakery.”

One other eyewitness recognized as Ezekiel Ali stated; 

“Though I’m not a specialist, from what I noticed, one of the victims was hit by bullets because we noticed holes in his body.”

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Azare who visited the area condemned the incident and also revealed that only one individual was killed in the course of the disaster. Azare revealed that they have made a couple of arrests in reference to the disaster.

He stated; 

“From the report gathered by my men on the ground, only one person was confirmed killed with many injured and receiving treatment at the hospital.”
