A cargo jet slid off the runway during touchdown and snapped in half while engulfed in smoke.

The DHL cargo airplane was touchdown at San Jose’s international airport in Costa Rica yesterday, April 7, when the incident occurred.

The airport was shut down as a precaution however no crew have been injured because of the crash.

Hector Chaves, director of the Costa Rica Fire Department, defined how upon touchdown the plane skidded, turned and broke in two, exposing its cargo.
