A$AP Rocky was detained at Los Angeles International airport on Wednesday morning, April 28, in connection to a shooting that came about in 2021.
The rapper whose actual identify is Rakim Mayers landed on the California airport following his journey to Barbados with pregnant girlfriend Rihanna and was taken into custody, NBC Information reported.
The LAPD made the arrest with help from Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations crew.
His lawyer confirmed the information to NBC. A rep for the LAPD couldn’t yet verify Rocky’s detention.
Rocky, whose actual identify is Rakim Mayers, has reportedly been underneath investigation by the LAPD for his alleged involvement in a Nov. 6 shooting.
The victim, who survived, later instructed police the rapper, 33, was strolling with two others when he approached the person with a handgun on the road. The victim claimed Rocky shot at him three to 4 instances and believed one of many bullets grazed his left hand, based on police reviews.

In 2019, Mayers, now 33, was arrested in Sweden after a combat on the street between his entourage and two males.
He was convicted of assault, given a suspended prison sentence, and needed to pay greater than $1,000 in damages. He served a month in jail earlier than the sentence was handed down so didn’t need to serve any further time.
