WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has once more reiterated that he’s retiring from boxing, stressing that “no sum of money” will tempt him to vary the choice.
This is coming days after the 33-year-old undefeated WBC heavyweight champion defeated fellow Briton Dillian Whyte through a sixth-round stoppage in front of a 94,000 crowd at Wembley.
Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV, Fury stated: “That is the truth, the gospel fact, nothing but the fact – I’m done.
“Each good canine has its day. Like an excellent Roman chief stated, there will at all times be someone else to combat.
“When is enough enough? I’m completely happy, I’m healthy, I’ve still got my brains, I can still speak. I’ve got a beautiful spouse, I’ve obtained six kids. I’ve got umpteen belts, I’ve got plenty of cash. I’ve got success, fame, glory. What more am I doing it for?
“Boxing’s a really dangerous sport, you might be taken out with one punch as we’ve seen on Saturday night time, and it only takes one unlucky blow and it’s possible you’ll not rise up off that canvas.
“I’m quitting whereas I’m forward. I’m undefeated, solely the second man in historical past to retire undefeated heavyweight champion.
“I’m very, very pleased and really content in my heart with what I’ve achieved, what I’ve achieved.
“It’s not about cash for me. Lots of people in this world, every thing is about cash, and more money and extra money. I’ve obtained sufficient cash. I’ve obtained sufficient of every thing I would like.
“I’m a quite simple man. I drive an 07 VW Passat. I’m a really regular individual, I don’t want tons of cash to impress all people.”
Fury, whose professional report exhibits 32 wins and one draw, with 23 victories by KO, added: “It’s not worth it (continuing).
“I’ve got a family to boost. I’ve 4 young kids to boost and two older ones.
“I’ve been away for the final 10 years on the highway, all over the world, travelling for boxing. When do I get time to be a father or a husband, a brother, a son. I would like this personal time.
“The fans will at all times want more, they’re at all times baying for extra blood. However on the finish of the day I don’t have anything extra to give. I’ve given every thing I’ve got. I’ve been an expert (for) 14 years, I’ve been boxing over 20 years.
“My time is to exit on a high. I at all times stated that I wished to stroll away on top of the sport, and do it on my terms, and I didn’t need to be the one who stated ‘well, I ought to have possibly retired two years ago’ or whatever.
“I simply wished to stroll out on top, exit with a bang. Practically 100,000 at Wembley, with a knockout performance – they won’t neglect the Gypsy King in a rush, and no quantity of material assets or cash will make me come back out of retirement as a result of I’m very completely happy.”
Fury has indicated he has no real interest in facing both WBA, IBF, and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua, however admitted he is not ruling out exhibition fights or a return to return to World Wrestling Entertainment.
And when asked by Morgan on Wednesday what his massive purpose in life now was, Fury replied: “My massive purpose in life now Piers is to get a job next to you, interviewing individuals and speaking my mind!”
